Roots of Resistance 2025 - image 1.jpg

March 31 is Cesar E Chavez Day. Chavez, the late founder and president of the United Farm Workers of America, had deep confidence in the ability of people to move mountains of injustice. Millions followed him on his journey to win monumental gains for farm workers, for civil rights, political representation for racial minorities and environmental justice. These achievements place him as one of the most outstanding leaders of the twentieth century. Chavez's protests taught people about the power of nonviolent protest, the importance of solidarity, and the fight for social justice.

In homage to Cesar Chavez, our current exhibition “Raices de Resistencia”, is a collection of artwork that addresses and speaks against policies that continue to challenge human rights in our society; immigration rights, health care, reproductive rights, climate change, transgender rights, white supremacy, gender equality, gun control, sexual harassment, voting rights, discrepancies in class and education, and much more.
